James Shultz has over 35 years of manufacturing experience. Most of those years have been in SupplyChain Management. He graduated from BGSU with a BS in Production and Operations Management.
Started his career with Dayton Walther Corporation (currently a division of Arvin Meritor).

Dayton Walther Corporation located in Dayton Ohio was the largest manufacture in the world of wheel end products for the Medium/Heavy Truck and Trailer industry. MRP was in the early years of use in manufacturing and my entry-level responsibility was to travel to a number of plants to train the personnel on the use of MRP (COPICS) as a planning andscheduling tool.

From that beginning, He has had the following positions:
Production Control Manager: Dayton Walther, Franklin KY
Materials Manager/Operations Manager at Kelsey Hayes-Kingsway Ohio (currently part ofTRW automotive)
Director of Materials: Meritor Automotive (Heavy Brake Group)
Director of Materials: Ferno-Washington Corporation in Wilmington Ohio

His current position is Vice President of Administration: Walther EMC Franklin Ohio. Walther EMC was a start up business about 15 years ago and has now grown to a leading position in the manufacture of lightweight hubs for the US Trailer industry. Walther EMC is a growing company that has expanded its product offering to include wheel end products for the Step in Van line: UPS, FED EX trucks, being the largest end customers.

Walther EMC is a very automated company that includes the use of many robots for material handing and assembly operations.
They implemented a number of system enhancement is the past few years:
– Syspro was implemented as their ERP system and is a fully integrated in all of our operations.
Some of the features they have implemented within their our system include:
– The scheduling system is paperless and goes directly from the order entry to a work order to PLC’s on the assembly line. The assembly line can be building a number of different products at the same time.
– The industry costs have significant changes monthly due to metal surcharges and we have automated managing those changes in purchase prices and sales prices.

James finds it enjoyable to work with this growing company and looks forward to having you as guests at Walther EMC in January.
